Rooms

The Museum exhibits various type and shape sacred vestments ,belonging to the period between the 18th  and the 20th  century, made from fabrics of extremely high prestige.

At the same time as the Museum of Sacred Vestments, you can also visit the Civic Museum of Paleontology of the territory of Savona and the Chestnut Museum.

Thanks to the De Mari Foundation and some private individuals, with the kind availability and the active intervention of the architect Silvia Barlocco together with Prof. Giuliana Casaccia, a small museum that collects only part of the rich collection of sacred vestments, which St. Charles Church in Bormida prides itself on ,was set up.

The parish had already become autonomous since 15th century and in the years between 1786 and 1789 was expanded due to the presence of 1,100 parishioners and gradually decorated and enriched thanks to the generous willingness of the Bormida inhabitants. This is proven by the splendid decorations of the interior and the façade of the church, work of the artist Peluzzi from Cairo Montenotte, and the richness of the sacred kept there.
