Reception

The large background image you can see at the reception, that dated back to 1956, the midst of the Italian economic miracle also called “Boom”, represents the central gatehouse of the plant opened in 1937. This image took place at the same time as the inauguration of the one of Cinecittà Studios in Rome, of which it follows the rationalist and functional architecture typical of the fascist period.

Entering the rooms, you will find a museum itinerary with a marked anthropological slant: workers, products, territory, leisure, archives that return to the visitor a particular journey in the historical, social and customs changes of the 20th century.

The transition from the production of explosives by S.I.P.E. Società Italiana Prodotti Esplodenti (Italian Society of Explosive Products) to the celluloid F.I.L.M. (Fabbrica Italiana Lamine Milano) was an intelligent and opportune moment of industrial reconversion that took place in 1917 by the end of the First World War (la Grande Guerra).
