The Alpino Museum of Carcare was founded in 2004 on the initiative of the local Alpini Group and boasts a rich collection of military objects, books, photographs and personal effects of some of the many Alpini troops of the Italian Army who fought hard during both World Wars.

The Museum’s collection is constantly growing thanks to contributions and donations from numerous Alpini members and their families, from different places in Italy; the great interest that it continues to generate is confirmed by the significant influx of visitors coming not only from Val Bormida over the years. The members of the Carcare group who manage the Museum feel great satisfaction, especially during school visits, where young people always show considerable attention to the stories and explanations given by the Alpini. The Museum stands out for being the only one in Liguria dedicated to the Alpini Corp. In these years of activity it has been an excellent way to let the young generations know better a very significant part of our history and to ensure that adults do not forget the men who sacrificed their lives for the homeland.

Since 2013 the Alpino Museum of Carcare has been enriched with a new section and houses a library entirely dedicated to alpine history and culture texts.
