The Mallare Wood Museum houses objects made of numerous wood essences, all purely local and in whose variety the attention to the care of the resources available by the various artisans is demonstrated.

The chestnut tree is certainly the plant on which the economy of the Municipality is based, not only used for its suitable for the construction of wooden frameworks or poles, but also and especially for the chestnut fruit, collected and treated in many varied forms. The importance of the chestnut fruits is also testified by the great diffusion of drying sheds in the Mallare woods, where the chestnuts were dried in order to guarantee a source of sustenance for the whole year; this process that started from the harvesting to the beating, involved the whole community inevitably creating a great cohesion among the inhabitants.

The beech is another essence appreciated for the excellent performance in the domestic heating with wood stove during the harsh winters. The territory of Mallare Municipality boasts some huge size same examples of this valuable tree in the area named Benevento, so spectacular to get the recognition of UNESCO World Heritage.

The wide botanical variety of the Mallare woods is also safeguarded by the Pian dei Corsi Forest Nursery, an institution that deals both with protecting the remarkable natural heritage of the area and hosting hikers and visitors who want to admire it.
