Napoleonic Museum
The setting up of the Museum was possible thanks to legacies and the acquisition of interesting materials and historical finds, as well as the contribution of volunteers such as Prof. Ferrando and Mr. Buzzone.
The Museum contains a collection of lithographs commissioned by the French government to French and Piedmontese cartographers in the early 19th century. Most of these lithographs represents the battles and places of the clashes on the territory of Val Bormida between the Austro-Piedmontese and French troops in April 1796. These lithographs had essentially a propaganda function in favour of the French army.
The Museum is also enriched by geographical maps, plants, edicts, weapons and military equipment of that era, as well as models and miniatures representing several battles in Val Bormida. This collection is due to the extraordinary work by Mr Barlocco, Mr. Pedrazzani and Mr. Sabatini, enthusiastic and passionate local people.
